ABC喜劇《格爾伯格一家 The Goldbergs》曾經在16年開發衍生劇但沒獲預訂，而電視網在美國時間1月24日放出拍好的試映集後（S05E00 「1990 Something」那集），倒是因為反應良好令ABC決定改變主意預訂該衍生劇，現定於19年1月9日首播，由《格爾伯格一家》前導。 　　暫定13集的《校園時代 Schooled》定於90年代，主角包括Glascott校長﹑Mellor教練及Lainey Lewis（Tim Meadows﹑Bryan Callen及AJ Michalka飾演），他們雖然有怪癖﹑個人生活有點瘋狂，但仍然是學生們心目中的英雄。Brett Dier飾演C.B.，此角色是改編自母劇主創Adam F. Goldberg的老師兼朋友，C.B.是名年輕﹑活躍的老師，在課堂上以滑稽的方式與學生互動，他亦是菜鳥老師Lainey Lewis的朋友/對手。 　　衍生劇原構念是複製《格爾伯格一家》的家庭喜劇模式，後來改為注重在校園喜劇這方向，新增了母劇的Lainey Lewis一角。
