　　AMC的《恐怖號 The Terror》是根據Dan Simmons 07年所著同名小說改篇，已直接預訂10集，現確定在美國時間明年3月26日首播。劇集版由David Kajganich編劇，講述在1847年時皇家海軍驚恐號在探索北極圈的「西北航道」（Northwest Passage）時，他們的船受到某種不知名的掠食怪襲擊，因此船員得為了生存而戰。小說是根據John Franklin現實帶領「幽冥號」（HMS Erebus）及「驚恐號」（HMS Terror）的故事所創作。 　　Jared Harris飾演Francis Crozier，是驚恐號的船長，是遠征隊的第二指揮，他是個智慧的水手及船長，但身為愛爾蘭人令他在皇家海軍的仕途上到了瓶頸位（原文是glass ceiling，這是種指因為某人的性別或身份或某自身原因下，在雖然沒明文下，仍然被限制了升遷），令他對能成名及政治生涯都不抱期待。 　　Ciaran Hinds飾演John Franklin/約翰·富蘭克林爵士﹑Paul Ready飾演Henry Goodsir ﹑Adam Nagaitis 飾演Cornelius Hickey ，他們與Tobias Menzies的角色James Fitzjames（皇家海軍其中一員）都是探索隊船員。 　　Edward Ashley﹑Liam Garrigan飾演在驚恐號上的組員，而Ronan Raftery與Matthew McNulty皆飾演驚恐號上的上尉。
