原作出自柊葵的同名漫畫，曾由吉卜力改編動畫電影，本片在原作基礎上增加了後續原創劇情；　　該電影雖為原創性的故事，忠實地再現了原作的世界觀，講述了原作裡的故事過去10年之後，變成大人的“雫”和“聖司”。經過10年的歲月，夢想成為小說家的雫（清野菜名 飾）變成了出版社的兒童小說編輯，放棄了夢想的她和在海外繼續追逐夢想的聖司（松坂桃李 飾）開始漸行漸遠，雫開始努力找回當年兩人互相鼓勵、一起向前的初心。
